It is reported that the United League of Arakan / Arakan Army (ULA/AA) provided financial aid yesterday, July 30, to households in Anjanapura Town, Arakan State, whose homes were collapsed and damaged due to heavy rainfall and erosion by the Lay Mro River.

Starting from the first week of July, continuous heavy rainfall across the Arakan region led to rising river levels, causing several homes along the riverbanks of Anjanapura Town to collapse into the river.

Among those affected, owners of 38 houses that completely collapsed or suffered severe damage were presented with financial assistance by the ULA/AA during a ceremony held yesterday, July 30, at 1:00 PM.

The homes provided with assistance included 16 houses from U Soe Tint Ward, 20 houses from Pyi Taw Tha Ward, one house from Min Ba Gyi Ward, and one house from Okkar Pyan Ward. It was also reported that the ULA/AA will continue to provide support for the remaining partially damaged homes.

During the event, cash aid was distributed at a rate of 800,000 MMK per house for a total of 38 affected homes.

An official from the Township Party Office of the Arakan People's Revolutionary Government stated that the assistance was prioritized primarily for households with significant losses, aiming to help families whose homes were destroyed by the Lay Mro River erosion meet their emergency food and shelter needs and support their rehabilitation.
