In response to the terrorist Military Council's statement claiming that 20 members of the Arakan Army (AA) surrendered with their weapons, ULA/AA Information Officer U Khaing Thukha refuted the claim, stating it is completely false and merely fabricated propaganda by the Military Council.

The Military Council's state-owned newspaper, The Kyemon, reported on July 30 that a total of 32 revolutionary fighters, including 20 members of the Arakan Army (AA), surrendered along with their arms and ammunition on July 29.

U Khaing Thukha, Information Officer for the United League of Arakan / Arakan Army (ULA/AA), responded late on the night of July 30 regarding this report.

U Khaing Thukha stated: "This is (completely) fake news. The terrorist fascist Military Council has shamelessly fabricated propaganda like this multiple times. There has been absolutely no incident of our members laying down arms or surrendering to the terrorist Military Council."

He further added that the Military Council is releasing such fake news to mislead the public at a time when they cannot gain the upper hand militarily.

"This is merely the terrorist fascist Military Council attempting to confuse the public by unlawfully arresting, torturing, and coercing Arakanese youth travelers, staging a scripted scenario as they desire, and spreading deceitful propaganda."

U Khaing Thukha also noted that the actual ground military situation directly contradicts the Military Council's statement. He emphasized that Military Council troops are suffering from low morale, resulting in mass desertions and continuous surrenders to the Arakan Army (AA).

"The reality on the ground is that terrorist Military Council troops are demoralized, running away en masse as well as individually, and frequently surrendering their weapons to us. Many Military Council soldiers have fled blindly, and we have captured many of them as well," U Khaing Thukha revealed.

Facing military defeats on all fronts and heavy casualties on the ground, the terrorist Military Council troops frequently resort to shamelessly publishing false propaganda claiming that Arakan Army (AA) members and revolutionary forces have surrendered.
