The United League of Arakan/Arakan Army (ULA/AA) and the Chin Brotherhood (CB) held discussions focusing on military cooperation to jointly respond to counteroffensive operations by the junta, and further explored forming a long-term alliance in the military, political, and economic spheres, according to CB spokesperson Salai Yaw Mang.

The meeting was held in Arakan in October, with participation from Arakan Army leaders, including Commander-in-Chief Major General Twan Mrat Naing, according to Chin Brotherhood spokesperson Salai Yaw Mang. He revealed this while speaking at the Chin Brotherhood fundraising event held on November 8.

According to the source, the discussions centered on assessing the junta’s potential counteroffensive, preparing joint strategies, and enhancing cooperation between the two alliances.

“We met last month. We discussed thoroughly. Mainly, the talks were about the revolution — how to cooperate militarily, how to support each other, and how to prepare for the junta’s counteroffensive. We planned and coordinated for that,” said Salai Yaw Mang.

He added that the meeting was not merely symbolic but included lengthy discussions, exchange of gifts, group photos, and sharing of lessons and experiences between the two sides.

During their visit to Arakan, the Chin Brotherhood delegation was allowed to travel freely through five major towns under AA control, he said.

The meeting also included talks on future cooperation between Arakan and Chin States, which share a common border, focusing on long-term inter-ethnic collaboration.

“Beyond military cooperation, we also plan to establish political and economic alliances in the future — to ensure mutual support and benefit between our peoples,” he said.

Salai Yeoman added that the ULA/AA’s position is that when the Arakanese people prosper, the Chin people should also benefit — and when the Chin people develop, the Arakanese people should share in that prosperity.

He also noted that during previous joint offensives in Kanpetlet, Matupi, Mindat, and Falam townships, the Chin Brotherhood forces received substantial military assistance from the Arakan Army.

The Chin Brotherhood (CB) alliance comprises Chin National Council – Mindat (CDF–Mindat), Chin National Organization / Chin National Defense Force (CNO/CNDF), Zomi Federal Union / PDF–Zoland, Chin Defense Force – Kanpetlet (CDF–Kanpetlet), Mindat Revolution Organization (MRO/CDF–Matupi) and Mara Territorial Council (MTC/MDF).
