Three Bangladeshi citizens belonging to the Chakma ethnic minority were killed yesterday on May 24 after stepping on landmines planted by the terrorist Muslim armed group ARSA along the Arakan border in Ghumdhum, Taungpyo, located in the Naikhongchhari Township of Bandarban District, Chittagong Hill Tracts, Bangladesh.

All three Chakma victims were residents of Bhalukia Para Village (No. 268) within the Reju Mouza tract of Naikhongchhari Township, Bandarban District.
According to reports, the victims had not visited Kalabagan the site of their long-time workplace in Reju Village for an extended period.
When they travelled there on May 24, Ankyamong stepped on a landmine upon arriving in Kalabagan, causing an initial fatal explosion.
As the remaining two men rushed to rescue him, a second landmine detonated. All three individuals were killed instantly at the scene.
Local residents stated that members of the terrorist militant group ARSA have been moving and operating freely in the region with heavy weaponry, acting almost like a state-sanctioned armed force under the Bangladeshi authorities.
