Two Civilians Killed, Eight Injured in Military Commission Airstrike in Gwa Township

Two local civilians were killed and eight others sustained injuries following another bombing raid by the military commission's air force in Gwa Township.


According to ground sources, a jet fighter from the military commission's air force dropped three 500-lb bombs on Ramma Kyun Village, Kyeintali Town, Gwa Township, yesterday evening, June 15.


The deceased have been identified as U Wai Lin, 50, and Daw Thuzar Moe, 38, both from Ramma Kyun Village.


Furthermore, those injured in Ramma Kyun Village were identified as Ma Yoon Ei San (11), Ma Aye Myat Mon (12), Daw Aye Thandar (40), Daw Khin Phyu (52), Daw Su Myat Mon (42), Daw Khin Oo (70), Ko Aung Thu Ra Win (26), and U Kyaw Nyunt (53).


Similarly on June 14, the military commission's air force conducted airstrikes within Gwa Township, damaging several civilian homes and killing a cow.


In addition, on June 8, a navy vessel belonging to the military commission that was stationed off the coast of Thei Kone Village, Kyeintali Town, Gwa Township, fired heavy artillery shells at least ten times.
