The Arakan Army released a military warning on October 10, 2025, and the Full Translation of the Statement is as follows:
For nearly two years, the fascist terrorist Military Commission, having lost battalions, divisional headquarters, and regional command centers, as well as key military and political positions, towns, and villages, has been launching large-scale offensives across Myanmar to recapture these areas.
In the Arakan region, the Military Commission has conducted combined land, sea, and air operations, particularly intensifying offensives in Kyaukphyu since early March 2025. However, these efforts have been ineffective, resulting only in significant losses and casualties for them.
At the same time, as we continue efforts to capture the remaining towns in the Arakan region, the enemy has been launching offensives in adjacent areas, including Magway Division (Nat Yay Kan), Bago Division (Nyaung Kyoe strategic hill), and the border of Ayeyarwady Division (within Lay Myat Nar township). We have been steadfastly resisting these offensives and conducting counterattacks, leading to near-daily clashes in these areas.
Currently, the Arakan Army and the fascist terrorist Military Commission are engaged in reciprocal offensives at five strategically critical locations, with continuous fighting spanning several weeks. Simultaneously, the Military Commission is preparing to launch further attacks on some of the areas under Arakan Army control.
The Military Commission’s naval vessels have been indiscriminately firing heavy weapons from the sea into civilian residential areas, neighborhoods, and villages that are not military targets. They have also been arresting and killing civilian fishermen working near the coast to earn a living, with such incidents occurring repeatedly in recent days.
On September 6, 2025, four civilian fishermen from Sat Lay Mhwa village, Taung Myint Kyi township, Thandwe town—U Maung Ko (51), U Kyaw Way Than (42), U Pho Ni (50), and U Nyi Nyi (39)—were arrested by the Military Commission’s navy while fishing near the coast.
On October 3, 2025, the fascist terrorist Military Commission arbitrarily arrested over 20 innocent civilian fishermen from Sar Pyin Kwin ward in Kyaukphyu town.
The Military Commission has been deliberately targeting densely populated civilian areas, schools, hospitals, clinics, and religious buildings with attacks from sea and air.
On September 4, 2025, at 2:00 PM, the Military Commission’s naval vessels fired heavy weapons, causing artillery shells to land and explode near Ngapali Beach in Thandwe town and on Lin Yoe Taung hill.
During September 2025, airstrikes by the terrorist Military Commission on civilian wards in Ann town resulted in the death of U Nyi Nyi (40), an innocent civilian, who was killed instantly at his home in Ward No. 4, Thandwe town. A pregnant woman and a 6-year-old child were among four civilians seriously injured. During these September airstrikes, civilian homes and a monastery compound were damaged.
On September 29, 2025, the Military Commission’s naval vessels continuously fired heavy weapons into Thandwe town and surrounding areas.
On October 9, 2025, between 4:04 PM and 4:14 PM, enemy naval vessels stationed approximately 10,000 meters west of Pone Hnyet village in Gwa township fired heavy weapons 11 times from the sea. Also on October 9, 2025, the fascist terrorist Military Commission’s naval vessels, positioned opposite Ngapali Beach in Thandwe town, indiscriminately fired heavy weapons into the surrounding areas of Ann town.
Additionally, Y8 and Y12 aircraft conducted relentless flights over Thandwe and Gwa towns for about four hours. On October 10, 2025, at approximately 8:00 AM, a jet fighter bombed the vicinity of Ann town.
Therefore, we urge the public in coastal towns and villages to exercise extreme caution regarding the fascist terrorist Military Commission’s Sea and air attacks and to remain vigilant for their safety.
