Rakhine State – Three women, including one elderly woman, were killed and at least five other people – among them two schoolgirls – were wounded when Taung Ngo village in Kyaukphyu Township was hit by airstrikes, local sources confirmed.

The deceased have been identified as:

  • Daw Ma Aung Tha (74 years old)

  • Daw Su Su Mar (47 years old)

  • Ma Win Su Thae (16 years old), all from Taung Ngo village.

A local woman from Kyaukphyu told Narinjara: “Yesterday, on 17 November, the terrorist air force dropped 500-pound bombs from jet fighters at night, and the bombs fell on Taung Ngo village, causing these casualties.”

“Yesterday the military attacked Kyaukphyu all day long using ground, naval and air forces – day and night without stopping. In just that one day, five villages including Taung Ngo were bombed. In Taung Ngo alone, three people were killed and more than five were injured,” she said.

Among the wounded are several schoolchildren who are currently receiving medical treatment, a ground source told Narinjara.

“There are schoolboys and schoolgirls among the injured, as well as drivers and other local residents. They are being treated right now,” the source said.

From midday until night on 17 November, the terrorist junta air force, using drones, jet fighters and navy vessels, carried out attacks on five villages in Kyaukphyu Township:

  • Taung Ngo

  • Kyauk Kalae

  • Let Tin

  • Min Yat

  • Than Chaung

The Arakan Army (AA) stated yesterday that in Let Tin village, bombs dropped from the air struck inside a school compound, exploding there and killing several nearby domestic animals.

Because the defeated fascist terrorist Military Council continues to launch relentless airstrikes on villages in Kyaukphyu Township, the AA has once again urged the public to be extra vigilant against air attacks.
