The Arakan People's Revolutionary Government donated three heads of cattle today, May 27, to mark the holy occasion of Eid al-Adha (Qurbani Festival), a sacred day celebrated by the Muslim community in Mrauk-U District, Arakan State.
The three heads of cattle were contributed to 14 Muslim villages across Mrauk-U District.
According to local sources, one animal was allocated directly to a larger village cluster, while the remaining two were systematically distributed and shared among 10 smaller villages to ensure all families could participate in the sacrificial rituals.
Furthermore, officials from the Arakan People's Revolutionary Government announced that all cattle intended for use during the Qurbani Festival would be completely exempted from taxation.
Muslim community elders expressed immense joy over the gesture, stating that they highly value the revolutionary government's respectful treatment of the Islamic community. They extended their heartfelt gratitude to the Arakan People's Revolutionary Government for formally recognizing their holy day and supporting their religious practices.
This gesture follows a recent humanitarian action on May 23, when the Arakan People's Revolutionary Government released a total of 57 individuals—including prisoners of war (POWs), families of detained combatants, and civilian detainees—in commemoration of the eve of the Qurbani Festival.
