The Arakan People’s Revolutionary Government donated cattle on May 27 to Htan Shauk Khan Village in Maungdaw District, Arakan State, in commemoration of Qurbani Day, one of the most significant religious occasions for Muslims.

It is reported that the Arakan People’s Revolutionary Government donated a total of eight cows for Muslim villagers from Htan Shauk Khan Village as well as Deli, Dabru Chaung, and Kontine villages in Maungdaw District in honor of the Qurbani festival.

The donation ceremony was reportedly organized and carried out on May 27 by ULA/AA officials from Maungdaw District.

In addition, officials from the Arakan Revolutionary Government stated that cattle intended for use during the Qurbani festival would also be granted tax exemptions.

Muslim elders said they were especially pleased with the respectful treatment and consideration shown by the Arakan People’s Revolutionary Government toward Muslims. They also expressed special gratitude to the government for recognizing and honoring an important Islamic religious occasion in this manner.

Previously, on May 23, as part of the pre-Qurbani commemoration, the Arakan People’s Revolutionary Government also released a total of 57 individuals, including prisoners of war, family members of detainees, and civilian prisoners.
