Some junta personnel have reportedly been roaming the streets at night wearing masks and robbing local residents' homes in Sittwe, a city that has not yet been liberated from the control of the military commission.
In recent days, these masked junta personnel have been spotted on the city streets at night. A local eyewitness stated that although their faces were covered with masks, their trousers and boots were clearly standard-issue military gear belonging to junta soldiers.
He added that at around 11:00 PM on June 11, these junta personnel broke into and robbed the home of Daw Ma Bu (56) near the Pyi Taw Pyan Monastery in Kyaung Tet Lan Ward, Sittwe. They made off with one tical of gold (approximately 16.33 grams) and cash.
Similarly, at around 10:00 PM on June 9, they entered a home in Min Gan Ward, where they beat and assaulted the homeowner before looting their money, according to a local resident from Min Gan Ward.
Sittwe residents, who are currently being used as human shields by the terrorist military commission, face daily threats and hardships, including robberies and loots perpetrated by junta personnel through various means. It is also reported that they are facing immense difficulties escaping or relocating to other areas due to the travel blockades and movement restrictions enforced by the fascist terrorist military commission forces.
