In Arakan's Mrauk-U District, the "Eid al-Fitr" celebration marking the end of the Ramadan fast for Muslims was held yesterday on March 15th and 16th.

Following Islamic tradition, Muslims observe fasting during the holy month of Ramadan each year as an important religious duty. Upon the completion of Ramadan, they celebrate Eid al-Fitr.

In some Muslim communities within the Mrauk-U District of the Arakan region, this Eid al-Fitr celebration was held. Military officers of the Arakan People's Revolutionary Government, responsible party officials from the district, district administration officials, and community elders attended and offered their congratulations.

During the celebration, Muslims performed congregational prayers. Local Muslims who attended the event, along with officials from the area, were hosted at the mosque and served traditional snacks.

A 34-year-old Muslim religious judge, Chabordin (U Maung Thein Nyien), told ONN that while Muslims in the Arakan region have held this Eid celebration every year, it is only under the current Arakan People's Revolutionary Government that they have been able to celebrate it in such a grand manner.

He said, "During the previous military council era, we never had the chance to celebrate like this, in such a lively and grand way. It is only now, under the Arakan Army government, that we have the opportunity to celebrate so magnificently. For that, I am extremely grateful. Furthermore, besides the party leaders, various departmental officials also attended the event to congratulate us. I am very pleased and satisfied. I am deeply thankful for enabling this celebration and for their attendance and support."

During Ramadan, Muslims fast from dawn until sunset, abstaining from food and various drinks. This practice is intended to achieve self-discipline, spiritual purity, and to strengthen faith and devotion to Allah.
