Arakkha Coastal Security Patrol Arrests Two Illegal Bangladeshi Fishing Boats with 13 Fishermen Just In One Day

To apprehend invading fishing boats from Bangladesh, the Coastal Security Patrol departed for sea patrol at around 6:00 a.m. on December 23, 2025.
Subsequently, while on patrol in the open sea, at around 9:00 a.m., they arrested one invading fishing boat with six fishermen on board, located approximately 3 kilometers southwest of Myin Hlut Creek in Maungdaw Township.
After handing over those fishermen to the station and departing again from the Myin Hlut Creek area, they spotted another fishing boat illegally poaching fish below Kyauk Pandu and heading back toward Bangladesh. This second boat was arrested at 11:45 a.m., approximately 3 kilometers west of Myin Hlut Creek in Maungdaw Township.
The second arrested fishing boat had seven fishermen on board. Items seized include 2 trawl nets, 2 No. 30 nets, 2 GPS phones, 660 Taka (Bangladeshi currency), and 150 kg of fish and prawns. These have been confiscated, and the case has been handed over to the relevant department for further action in accordance with the law.
