Arakkha Government Arrests Six Illegal Bangladeshi Fishermen Along With a Fishing Boat

To apprehend invading fishing boats from Bangladesh, the Coastal Security Patrol departed for sea patrol at around 6:00 a.m. on December 23, 2025.
Subsequently, while on patrol in the open sea, they spotted an invading fishing boat from Bangladesh illegally poaching fish approximately 3 kilometers southwest of Myin Hlut Creek in Maungdaw Township. The patrol arrived and arrested it at around 9:00 a.m.

The fishing boat had six fishermen on board. Items seized include 15 nylon fishing nets, one GPS phone, 500 Taka (Bangladeshi currency), and 35 kg of fish. These have been confiscated, and the case has been transferred to the relevant authorities for legal action.
The Coastal Security Patrol is diligently working to ensure the security of the Arakkha coastline and to conserve fishery resources.
