On November 12, 2025, at 10:30 AM, Arakan security personnel apprehended eight Bangladeshi nationals who had trespassed approximately 450 meters into Arakan territorial waters in the Naf River from the border line to engage in illegal fishing.
ARSA/RSO terrorists frequently disguise themselves as fishermen in the Naf River to launch surprise attacks on Arakan Army (AA) members and civilians, resulting in deaths and injuries. These militants have also been acting as proxy forces for the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), arresting civilians from all communities who are attempting to trade essential life-saving items from the Bangladeshi side into Arakan.

It is reported that between January and July 18, 2025, Arakan authorities released approximately 188 Bangladeshi fishermen and 30 boats in the spirit of maintaining good bilateral relations. However, due to the lack of appropriate respect and reciprocal constructive response from Bangladeshi authorities, subsequent intruders have been detained and are being prosecuted under the law.
