14 Arakan Locals Arrested by Military Junta While Returning with Purchased Goods

A motorboat and 14 merchants returning to Ramree Town after purchasing goods from Minbya Town were arrested without cause by a naval vessel belonging to the Military Junta in the Thanzit River, Kyaukphyu Township, at 5:00 PM on June 7, according to a statement released by the Arakan Army.
The statement specified "On June 7, 2026, at 5:00 PM, a motorboat returning to Ramree Town with goods purchased from Minbya Town was seized in the Thanzit River by a naval vessel of the terrorist Military Council troops, and a total of 14 merchants and laborers onboard the motorboat were arrested without any justification."
The detainees have been identified as U Shwe Khe and U Sein Win Maung (from Taung Okkala Ward); Daw Pu Saik aka Daw Kyi Kyi Khin (from Shwe Tone Ward); Daw Mi Mi aka Daw Aye Sandar Aung (from Aung Seik Ward); and Daw Win Win Shwe aka Pathein (from Laung Chaung Ward) From Ramree Town.
And Daw Tin May Than, Ko Nay Myo Thein, U Ko Ko Aung, and Maung Zaw Min Aung from Taungup Township.
Moreover, Daw Chaw Su Ma, Daw Mya Mya Kyaw, and U Than Win Lwin IDPs from Saing Chon, Kyaukphyu Township, Daw Myint Myint Khin from Myebon Township, U Khin Zaw Oo from Sane Town.
It is reported that these 14 civilians, arrested by the terrorist Military Council, have still not been released as of today, nearly two weeks after their arrest.
Similarly, at 9:00 AM on the same day, a boat returning with pigs from the direction of Min Kyaung Tan Htar in Ramree Township was chased and fired upon with a machine gun by a Speed Boat belonging to the terrorist Military Council troops upon reaching the Thanzit River below Aung Lan Chane Village in Kyaukphyu Township, leaving two men wounded.
