The X account of Raiza Sultana, a self-proclaimed lawyer and human rights activist, has been banned by the platform for disseminating false information and accusations against the Arakan Army in a recent report by the Kaladan Press Network (KPN).
KPN, a media outlet promoting hate speech and disinformation against the Arakan Army, published a report on September 23, 2025, titled “Kill Them All: The Htan Shauk Khan Massacre and Sexual Violence by the Arakan Army in Buthidaung Township.”
The report, which featured interviews conducted by Raiza Sultana, who claims to be a lawyer and human rights activist of Bangagya (Rohingya) origin, was shared on her X account. The platform subsequently banned her account for spreading lies and propaganda that undermine peace and social cohesion in Arakan.
For years, some members of the Bangagya diaspora have been spreading falsehoods and hate speech to create sensationalized narratives, inciting extremism and violence in Arakan.
Local Rakhine and Muslim communities have welcomed X’s actions, as they believe it helps reduce hate speech and extremism in the region.
