In urban and rural areas of the Arakan region under the control of the Arakan Army (AA), the Arakkha People's Revolutionary Government has begun field inspections of illegally operated clinics starting from the beginning of February, according to reports.
To prevent unwanted health risks related to medicines for the people in the Arakan region, the inspections are being conducted jointly by the DLEPS Department, township Health Departments, township Administration Departments, and village/ward administration teams.
Unlicensed "ramku" (traditional/herbal) doctors and practitioners in urban and rural areas must apply for official licenses from the Arakkha Health Department to obtain permission for medical treatment. Those found treating patients without a valid medical license, including clinics, will be arrested and action taken according to the law.

During the current field inspections by the Arakkha Health Department and joint teams, clinics using expired medicines and illegally imported drugs for sale and treatment have been discovered, and legal actions are being taken accordingly.
Since January last month, the Arakha Health Department has been conducting field inspections of clinics and pharmacies in townships such as Minbya, Mrauk-U, Kyauktaw, Ponnagyun, and others in the Arakan region for practices like mixing/selling adulterated medicines and illegally trading drugs.
The Arakkha People's Revolutionary Government is also expanding public health care and services by opening the Arakan Nursing Science School, Medical Science School, and midwifery training courses, recruiting trainees, and continuously hiring staff to serve in the Health Department.
