In Bandarban District, Naikhonchari Township, Ghumdhom area of Bangladesh, the Tanchangya Students Forum has strongly condemned and protested the terrorist attacks by the militant terrorist group ARSA on the Tanchangya (Daingnet) ethnic communities.
The statement highlights that terrorist attacks by ARSA have been occurring against the Tanchangya people in the mountainous Ghumdhom area of Naikhonchari Township, Bandarban District.
In two separate incidents on January 22 and 24, three innocent Daingnet individuals were subjected to cruel and brutal torture by militant terrorists, as stated in the release.
Among those tortured were a mentally unstable young man and a woman.
The victims, who had committed no crimes, were held at gunpoint, taken hostage, and subjected to such acts, which the Tanchangya Students Forum describes as severe violations of human rights.
The statement further notes that the terrorist militant group ARSA has restricted access to the mountainous regions where indigenous ethnic groups live and carry out their livelihoods, seriously threatening the sovereignty of the state, the rule of law, and peaceful coexistence in the hill tracts.
In addition, the Tanchangya Students Forum has urgently demanded the following from the government:
Immediate special security operations against the militant terrorist groups active in the Naikhonchari area;
Arrest and punishment of all terrorists involved in these incidents;
Government assurance of safety, medical treatment, and compensation for the victims.
