One Person Using and Selling Drugs Arrested by DELP at a KTV in Minbya Township

The Arakan State Crime and Related News Release Team announced today (March 25) that the Department of Law Enforcement and Public Security (DELP) of the Arakan People's Revolutionary Government arrested an individual who was using and selling drugs, along with the drugs and related paraphernalia, at the Music Love KTV located in Thea Tan Ward, Minbya Township, Minbya District, Arakan Region, at 11:00 PM on March 15.
According to the announcement, the Department of Law Enforcement and Public Security (DELP) conducted the raid and arrest following a report that drugs were being used and sold in Room No. 809 of the Music Love KTV, which is open for business in Thea Tan Ward, Minbya Township.
During the arrest, authorities searched Room No. 809 and found a person named Myo Hlaing Win (age 28), from Thayet Taw Village, Mrauk-U Township. Seized from him were 557 methamphetamine tablets (WY/R marked), 960,000 kyats in cash believed to be proceeds from drug sales, one black Vivo brand mobile phone, one black Oppo brand mobile phone, a double-edged sharpened knife approximately 10 inches long, a bottle of partially consumed GRAND ROYAL brand alcohol, and a bottle of partially consumed Mongolia brand alcohol. Additionally, a blue-black Wave Honda motorcycle and a black HILUX SURF station wagon used by Myo Hlaing Win were also confiscated.

Myo Hlaing Win was arrested red-handed with the drugs. A case has been opened against him under sections 19(A)/20(A) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law with case number Ma Ya (Pa) 1/2026, and legal proceedings are being carried out in accordance with the law.
It is reported that the DELP forces are continuing to investigate the chain of suspects involved in this case and will proceed with legal action in accordance with established procedures.
The announcement also highlighted that possessing, using, or selling drugs can result in severe penalties. Under Section 19(A) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law, anyone found guilty of possessing or transporting drugs with the intent to sell is liable to a minimum of 10 years to a maximum of life imprisonment. Under Section 20(A), anyone found guilty of manufacturing, distributing, or selling drugs is liable to a minimum of 15 years to a maximum of life imprisonment or the death penalty.
The statement appealed to the people of Arakan to cooperate as a national duty by providing timely information, raising awareness about the dangers of drugs, and protecting the youth from the dangers of narcotics.
