Kyauktaw Bombing Kills 33 Civilians, Injures 36 Others

In Arakan, the military junta launched an airstrike on Kyauktaw town this afternoon, resulting in the recovery of 33 bodies so far, with the death toll expected to rise further.

Today, September 28, between 12:10 PM and 12:14 PM, the terrorist military junta used a jet fighter to conduct airstrikes targeting the vicinity of the Kisapanadi Bridge and the India Market in Kyauktaw.

As a result of the bombing, 32 bodies of civilians, passersby, and shoppers in the area were recovered as of past 3:00 PM today, and local sources informed that the casualty count could be much higher.

"We have directly counted 32 bodies in front of us so far, according to the person collecting the roster. There are still bodies that haven't been retrieved from the burning areas. We estimate the toll could be nearly 40. Aside from the 32 gathered bodies, there are still people lying on the streets," a local source stated.

It is also reported that at least 36 people have sustained injuries.

The Kisapanadi Bridge suffered structural damage during the attack, with several pedestrians on the bridge killed or injured.

Similarly, the attack targeted the crowded India Market during peak trading hours. The military junta intentionally bombed the area while it was filled with shoppers and vendors, leading to mass civilian casualties and injuries.

Additionally, three-wheeler rickshaws, motorcycles, cars, and farm trucks parked by civilians inside the market were set ablaze and destroyed.
