BGB Constructs Two New Outposts on Arakan-Bangladesh Border

On the Arakan-Bangladesh border, the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has opened two Temporary Operation Bases (TOBs) along the border in Ghumdhum Union, Naikhongchhari Upazila, Bandarban District, to enhance surveillance and security operations, according to local news reports.

The two outposts, named "Arachtala Tila" and "Haturani Tila," are located within the area under the responsibility of the Cox's Bazar Battalion (34 BGB) and were inaugurated on September 16.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by Brigadier General Kazi Shamsuddin, Commander of the BGB Cox's Bazar Region, who stated that the bases were constructed to ensure 24-hour border monitoring, prevent smuggling and illegal activities, and conduct border operations more effectively.

Similarly, Brigadier General Kazi Shamsuddin addressed the BGB personnel deployed at the two new outposts and provided necessary directives for border security operations, local media reported.

It is also reported that Islamic militant terrorist groups such as ARSA, RSO, RIM, and ARA operate on the Bangladeshi side of the Arakan-Bangladesh border, engaging in illegal border crossings, drug trafficking, human trafficking, kidnappings, and other illicit activities.
