According to a statement from the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the Bangladesh Navy conducted a targeted raid on April 26 in the border town of Teknaf, Cox’s Bazar district, seizing Myanmar Military-made weapons, ammunition, and methamphetamine tablets.
The statement noted that the operation was carried out in the Flower Dale area by two specially trained teams, which included members of the Navy's special forces.
The confiscated arsenal included two Myanmar Military-made G3 rifles, one MA-1 rifle, eight magazines, 190 rounds of live ammunition, and 10 blank cartridges. Additionally, security forces discovered 28,000 "Yaba" (methamphetamine) tablets.
A suspect identified as M. Delwar Hussain, reportedly an aide to a well-known individual named Butu Saiful, was arrested at the scene.
Following the operation, the suspect and the seized items were handed over to local authorities for further legal action.
The Navy confirmed that these regular operations are part of an ongoing crackdown aimed at dismantling terrorist networks and criminal gangs operating in the border region.
