Bangladesh Coast Guard Arrests Three Traders Attempting to Export Fertilizers to Arakan

The Bangladesh Coast Guard (BCG) arrested three traders attempting to export fertilizers from Bangladesh to the Arakha region on the morning of September 2, BCG Assistant Commandant Sabbir Alam Suzan stated on September 3.


BCG’s Chittagong contingent executed a special operation around 4:00 AM on September 2 in the Dabir Khal area of Chittagong City.


During the operation, authorities arrested three traders who were transferring 220 bags of fertilizer weighing a total of 11,000 kilograms (11 tons) and valued at approximately 550,000 BDT from a truck onto a fishing boat bound for the Arakan.


The three detainees, along with the seized chemical fertilizer and truck, were handed over to the Halishahar Police Station for legal proceedings.


Similarly, on July 28, the BCG issued a statement regarding the arrest of a boat carrying six traders attempting to export chemical fertilizer and other commodities from Bangladesh to the Arakan.
