At least eight innocent civilians, including an infant and women, were killed and many others injured when the terrorist Myanmar military carried out airstrikes for two consecutive days on the Chaung Sone cargo jetty, controlled by the Arakan Army (AA), located in the upper reaches of the Lay Mro River in Paletwa Township, Chin State, according to local sources.

On October 19 yesterday, between 11:30 AM and 12:00 PM, the terrorist military continued its bombardment for a second day, targeting the cargo boat jetty in Chaung Sone Village using two jet fighters and two Y-12 aircraft. Additionally, aerial attacks targeted passenger cars and cargo trucks traveling on the road, resulting in further casualties among stevedores and merchants. Detailed casualty figures are still being verified.

The same Chaung Sone jetty was previously attacked during the morning and afternoon of October 18, when the terrorist military used jet fighters and Y-12 transport planes to drop bombs, killing at least eight innocent civilians, including infants and women, and injuring many others.

Situated at the upper Lay Mro River junction near the border of Paletwa, Matupi, and Mindat Townships, the Chaung Sone jetty is a bustling hub filled with stevedores, market traders, and food stalls. Locals stated that the terrorist military intentionally targeted this crowded civilian gathering place with airstrikes for two straight days.
