ARSA Terrorists Killed A Civilian in Maungdaw

In northern Maungdaw Township, Rakhine State, a local man from Buthidaung Township was killed due to shooting by the Muslim terrorist armed group ARSA, according to AB News.

The deceased is 25-year-old Ko Kyaw Soe Win from Pyein Shar village, Buthidaung Township, who was working in Nantthar Taung village, Maungdaw Township.


Locals said that he was shot by ARSA around 8 a.m. on October 21, about 800 meters from Thayar Kone village, while he was leaving Nantthar Taung village on a motorcycle with a friend.


"He left with a friend from Nantthar Taung village yesterday morning. Within minutes, when they reached the exit of Thayar Kone village, the terrorist ARSA shot them with guns. Ko Kyaw Soe Win was hit in the chest and abdomen and died," said a local.


Due to the shooting by ARSA, motorcyclist Ko Kyaw Soe Win was hit by bullets in the chest and abdomen and died, while his friend who was with him escaped with injuries.


It is also known that on October 11, ARSA opened fire on three motorcycle cargo carriers carrying goods from Nantthar Taung village, about 200 meters from the Leik Ya junction, killing one carrier.

Similarly, on October 15, ARSA also detonated a mine attack on three men from Aung Thar Yar village who were returning from shopping at Taung Pyoe, between Leik Ya junction and Thayar Kone villages, seriously injuring one villager.


Due to the terrorist ARSA group's ambush and shooting attacks on local Rakhine travelers in the Kyein Chaung - Taung Pyoe/Nantthar Taung road section in northern Maungdaw, some civilian residents have been injured and killed.


According to AB News investigations, within over a year from May 2024 to October 17, at least 40 civilian residents have been killed and no less than 15 injured due to killings by the Islamic extremist terrorist ARSA groups in Maungdaw and Buthidaung townships.
