The Arakkha Health Department has issued a public alert urging heightened vigilance over the Nipah virus outbreak currently occurring in India, citing its high fatality risk.

In a statement released on January 27, the department warned that the Nipah virus is a highly dangerous infectious disease with a significant risk of death, and called on the public to take the situation seriously.

According to the announcement, symptoms of Nipah virus infection may include fever, headache, coughing, drowsiness, difficulty breathing, muscle pain, confusion, and seizures. Health officials noted that the disease can be life-threatening.

Given the potential danger, the Arakkha Health Department has issued an urgent advisory to the public to take preventive precautions and remain alert to possible risks.
