Arakan People's Revolutionary Government Distributes Free Paddy Seeds for 100 Acres to Farmers in Paletwa District

The Agriculture Division under the Department of Agriculture and Livestock of the Arakan People's Revolutionary Government has provided free paddy seeds for 100 acres of farmland to local farmers in Paletwa District.
The official handover ceremony was held on the morning of April 4, where the seeds were formally distributed to tract administrators within Paletwa Township.
According to the distribution plan for Paletwa District, Tract No. (9) (Nga Myin Taung and Meit Sar-2), which has a total potential cultivation area of 188.38 acres, was provided with 100 baskets of paddy seeds for the 20 acres currently ready for cultivation.
In Tract No. (6), seeds were provided for 40 acres currently ready for cultivation, totaling 200 baskets. This tract includes Auk Thae Ma Wa village (77.88 acres), Sein Nyin Wa village (89.78 acres), Lell Hla village (88.03 acres), Tha Htay Kone village (92.34 acres), Sein Sin village (75.63 acres), and Nga Pwee village (3.17 acres).
Other villages in Paletwa Township that received seeds include Leik Kone village (63.97 acres), Mee Let Wa village (53.94 acres), Ta Man Thar village (25.99 acres), Tein Let village (34.81 acres), See Phalaung village (37.41 acres), and Kyet U Wa village (8.15 acres). These villages received 150 baskets of seeds for 30 acres of land.
Additionally, in Tract No. (5), Min Khwae village received 50 baskets of seeds for 10 acres, despite having a total potential area of 143.81 acres.
While the total amount of paddy seeds intended for distribution across various tracts and villages in Paletwa District is 500 baskets, the current area ready for immediate cultivation is estimated at approximately 100 acres.
The Arakan People's Revolutionary Government is providing these seeds free of charge at a time when local farmers in the Paletwa region are facing significant hardships in continuing their agricultural livelihoods.
