The Arakan Army (AA) has provided rice bags as food aid to migrant Myanmar workers and internally displaced persons (IDPs) within Pan Hseng Township, a territory controlled by the Kokang Army (MNDAA).
On June 19 at around 10:00 AM, the Arakan Army-AA (Fire Dragon Military Region) provided 67 bags of rice through the Kachin Literature and Culture Association to support IDPs who fled to Pan Hseng Town during Operation 1027, as well as people who migrated from various regions in search of employment.
A female member of the Kachin Culture Association stated that the IDPs and migrant workers currently in Pan Hseng Town are facing severe livelihood hardships due to the scarcity of jobs.
She added that in addition to those fleeing local fighting, there is a large influx of people migrating to the area to find work, and they are experiencing food and housing difficulties due to limited employment opportunities.
Furthermore, she expressed gratitude for the provision of rice and other assistance to those in need, as reported to the Mine Yu News Agency.
It is learnt that the IDPs and migrant workers in Pan Hseng Town are facing significant challenges in securing food and livelihood, as well as affording house rents, due to the impact of job scarcity.
