Mrauk-U Township Concludes Football Shield Tournament Commemorating Qurbani Day

A football tournament held in Mrauk-U Township, Arakan region, to commemorate Qurbani Day a sacred day for Muslims that fell on May 28 successfully concluded yesterday on June 21.

The football tournament commenced ahead of the recent Qurbani Day and drew to a close yesterday. Muslim villages from across Mrauk-U Township participated in the tournament, with Yai Thei Village clinching the first-place shield and Paurein Village securing the second-place prize.

Departmental officials from the United League of Arakan / Arakan Army (ULA/AA) attended and honored the Qurbani Day commemorative football shield tournament, while the Department of Law Enforcement and Public Security (DLEPS) provided security for the event.
