According to local sources, the military junta conducted an airstrike using 500-pound bombs on residential areas of Paletwa town, which is controlled by the Arakan Army (AA). The attack took place around 12:30 PM today, September 29, 2025, near Paletwa Hospital, causing damage to homes and resulting in casualties and injuries.


Residents and sources close to the situation told that the attack involved two 500-pound bombs and one cluster bomb. A local from Paletwa stated,


“We don’t yet know the exact number of deaths. I heard it was three. The bombs were dropped around the hospital area. I’m not sure if it was two or three 500-pound bombs. The sound was terrifying, and people are now fleeing in fear.”


Initial reports indicate at least two deaths and no fewer than 16 injuries in Paletwa. On the evening of September 26, 2025, the military commission also carried out an airstrike with a 500-pound bomb on Taungup town, damaging the Tapu Monastery, which had previously been occupied by the military and later seized by the AA. This was the first airstrike on the monastery since its capture by the AA.

On September 12, 2025, an airstrike by the military commission on Thayet Tapin village in Kyauktaw Township killed 21 students and injured up to 22 others. Similarly, on the night of August 25, 2025, an airstrike on the Daingkyi quarter of Mrauk-U town resulted in 15 deaths, including children, and 18 injuries.

On May 14 and 15, 2025, the military commission conducted consecutive airstrikes using jet fighters on the Rwa Ma quarter of Kyauktaw town, killing 8 innocent civilians and injuring a total of 14 people. Additionally, on May 13, 2025, at 10:05 AM, an airstrike by the military commission using a jet fighter on Tun Rawe village in Rathedaung Township resulted in 12 civilian deaths, 23 injuries, and the destruction of 31 homes.


The fascist military commission, losing battles against the AA, has resorted to targeting civilian areas under ULA administration
