A futsal tournament promoting interethnic friendship — including participation from Muslim communities — was held in a liberated area of Arakan (Rakhine) State to commemorate the 47th birthday of the Arakan Army (AA) Commander-in-Chief, Major General Twan Mrat Naing, according to Nirinjara News.
The event took place on November 7, coinciding with the commander’s birthday. A local resident told Nirinjara that the celebration was meant to highlight unity and harmony among different ethnic and religious groups in Arakan.

“The main message is that all people in Arakan, regardless of ethnicity or religion, live together peacefully and with mutual respect. The event reflects the love and admiration that people here have for the Commander,” the local said.
Teams from various neighborhoods participated in the futsal competition.
In addition to the sports event, the Arakan Army also granted amnesty to a total of 16 prisoners — including Mro, Khami, Muslim, and Rakhine individuals — as well as 82 Muslim detainees who had been imprisoned or detained during the 2024 conflict for alleged connections to groups such as the junta forces, ARSA, or RSO.
