In Rakhine State’s Rathedaung Township, airstrikes by the military junta on two villages resulted in the deaths of 5 civilians and injuries to at least 5 others, according to local sources.

On the morning of November 15, at around 9:30 AM, junta forces used a jet fighter to bomb Ba Hta Le village in Rathedaung Township. Approximately 30 minutes later, at around 10:00 AM, another airstrike targeted the vicinity of Nwar Tin Kout village, residents reported.

A local from Rathedaung stated: "This morning, the military council bombed two villages in Rathedaung Township. They used a jet fighter and dropped 500-pound bombs. The first strike hit Ba Hta Le village at 9:30 AM, and shortly after, they bombed near Nwar Tin Kout village."

The 500-pound bombs dropped by the junta’s jet fighter killed 3 civilians and injured 4 in Ba Hta Le village, while 2 civilians were killed in Nwar Tin Kout village.

Rathedaung Township is under the control of the Arakan Army (AA). On November 8, the military council had also bombed Kyein Tha and Kyauk San Chay villages in the same township.

During this period, more than 30 civilians—including children and women—were killed, and over 50 others were injured, according to compiled reports.

The Arakan Army spokesperson, U Khaing Thukha, stated that the junta, which has been terrorizing and killing the people of Rakhine, will face retaliation to ensure justice for the Rakhine people.
