The terrorist military commission forces set fire to Thin Pone Tan village in Sittwe township, which is still under the control of the terrorist military commission, around 3:00 PM on February 21st, according to local sources.
Local residents said that members of the terrorist military commission forces entered Thin Pone Tan village, located near the military's 100-bed hospital in Sittwe township, during the afternoon of February 21st and burned down the houses of innocent civilians without any reason.
"I received news that houses on the Thin Pone Tan side were on fire. Although the villagers no longer live there, the houses were left intact. The soldiers entered the village and set them on fire. Burning down people's houses like that for no reason is extremely vile," a local resident from Sittwe told ONN.
It is reported that due to this arson attack by the terrorist military commission on the local residents' homes in Thin Pone Tan village, 23 civilian houses in the village were completely destroyed by fire.
The villages near the military hospital, including Thin Pone Tan village in Sittwe township, as well as villages along Maung Ni Pyin, Aung Taing, Pin Lin Pyin, Pyar Lae Chaung, and Yay Chan Pyin road, have been forcibly relocated into the town since June 2024 by order of the military council (Sakama). It is also known that some houses in these villages were demolished by trained Muslims and local Muslims on the orders of the military to clear the line of sight if Arakan Army (AA) troops entered.
Therefore, locals say that not only have the residents of Thin Pone Tan village been forcibly evicted and are no longer able to live in their village, but now their homes and properties are also being destroyed by arson committed by the terrorist military commission.
