In Ramree Township, Arakan, the Myanmar military junta's air force conducted airstrikes on Lay Taung town—including the hospital, the old police station, and the market—resulting in the deaths of two civilians and numerous injuries, according to local residents.
Around 10:30 a.m. today, the junta airstrikes targeted the hospital in Thayetkyo village, Lay Taung town, the old police station, and the market, a town resident told AB News.
“The hospital, market, and old police station in Lay Taung township were bombed. Due to shrapnel from the bombs, one man and one woman were killed. There are many injured people,” the resident said.
Detailed information regarding the deaths and injuries from the airstrike in Lay Taung town is not yet available.
The junta air force used two jet fighters to carry out the bombing of Lay Taung town in Ramree Township, sources confirmed.
On February 18, the junta air force also conducted airstrikes on Mya Kyawng Chaung village in Kyaukpyu Township.
