It is reported that the United League of Arakan (ULA) provided basic food supplies yesterday, September 10, to internally displaced persons (IDPs) from Kyaukphyu and Thandwe townships currently residing in Toungup District, Arakan.

"At a time when rice prices are rising like this, we displaced people are facing livelihoods hardships," said Daw San Tin Mya, an IDP from Thandwe Township. "So when the ULA comes and provides food assistance during such times, it really helps us out."

During the aid distribution, each IDP received 28 condensed milk tins' worth of rice, alongside family-level allocations of fish paste, dried fish, and salt. ULA party members and officials from the administrative department assisted in distributing the aid.

Previously, on September 7, the United League of Arakan (ULA) and the Zin Chaung Youth Philanthropic Association also provided food supplies to IDPs from Kyaukphyu Township residing within Toungup Township.
