Two Civilians Including a Child Killed and 8 Injured by Junta Airstrikes and Artillery Shelling in Two Villages in Kyaukphyu

Local residents report that on the night of February 15, the fascist military junta attacked Wa Hmyaung Village and Nga Oak Village in Kyaukphyu Township with drones and artillery shelling, killing two innocent civilians, including a one-year-old child, and injuring eight others.
The deceased are Ma Khin Htet Htet Soe (7 years old) and Daw Khin San Wai (43 years old) from Wa Hmyaung Village, Kyaukphyu Township.
The injured individuals are: from Wa Hmyaung Village – U Myint Hlaing Chay (45 years), Daw Than Nu Khin (56 years), Daw Ma Wai Chay (60 years), Daw Khin San Aye (42 years), U Ba Si Kay (46 years); from Nga Ok Village – Daw Wai Wai Moe (38 years); from Yinan Taung Village – Daw Khin Hla Shwe (55 years), who was taking refuge in Nga Oak Village; and from Kyet Tein Village – Daw Wai San Khin (34 years).
A local resident said that around 3 AM on the night of February 15, two suicide drones from the military junta dropped two bombs targeting Nga Ok Village in Kyaukphyu Township.
Due to this bombing attack, four residential houses and two shops in Nga Ok Village were burnt to ashes.
Later, from 3:10 AM to 3:35 AM on the same night, naval vessels belonging to the military junta, positioned in the sea between Wa Hmyaung and Nga Oak villages and in the river near the Danyawaddy Naval Base, fired at least 22 heavy artillery rounds targeting Nga Oak Village and Wa Hlaung Village, according to a local resident.
Among these artillery rounds, 3 shells landed and exploded inside Wa Hmyaung Village, and 5 shells landed and exploded inside Nga Oak Village.
As a result of these artillery shellings, a one-year-old child and a woman from Wa Hmyaung Village died on the spot. Additionally, 5 residents of Wa Hmyaung Village, one woman from Nga Oak Village, and two displaced individuals were injured.
Furthermore, two residential houses in Nga Oak Village collapsed and were destroyed, and one cow was also killed.
Similarly, around 5:30 PM on February 14, artillery shelling by the fascist military junta's navy resulted in the death of an 80-year-old woman from Kyaukpyauk Village, Kyaukphyu Township.
