Bangladesh authorities have arrested four terrorists, including a leader of the Rohingya Solidarity Organization (RSO), who were allegedly plotting an attack in the Balukhali Muslim refugee camp in Ukhiya.
At approximately 2:00 AM on May 13, a joint operation by the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB-15) and the Armed Police Battalion (APBN) led to the arrest of the four Islamic extremist militants while they were reportedly preparing for a violent assault within the camp.
The arrested RSO members have been identified as: Md Noor (RSO Commander), resident of Block A-2, Camp 9. Mukter, resident of Block F-3. Md Hasson, resident of Block B-1. Md Arfan, resident of Block B-3.
According to local sources, the RSO members were planning an attack against rival militant groups, specifically ARSA (Arakan Rohingya Salvation Army) and ARA (Arakan Rohingya Army), when the joint forces intervened and conducted the arrests.
It is further reported that these detained RSO members were involved in the previous assassinations of Kifayat Ullah (alias Abdul Halim), a leader of the ARO, and Md Kamal (alias Noor Kamal, 45), the brother of ARA leader Nabi Hossain.
