It has been learned that the Naypyidaw military headquarters has instructed the Department of Archaeology to submit a report on the historic ancient Arakan yatra bell unearthed by the Arakan Army (AA).
In December 2025, Rakhine-based media outlets reported that the Arakan Army (AA) had excavated the historic ancient Arakan yatra bell. Due to these reports, the Naypyidaw military headquarters instructed the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Culture, as well as the Department of Archaeology, National Museum and Library, to promptly prepare and submit detailed reports on the yatra bell.
According to sources, the Naypyidaw military headquarters has directed the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Culture, and the Department of Archaeology, National Museum and Library, to quickly submit reports on the history and background of the yatra bell. It is also understood that this directive comes from military leader Min Aung Hlaing.

An 84-year-old man named U Tun Aung, who knew the burial location of the ancient yatra bell, trusted the Arakan Army (AA) and informed them, leading to its successful excavation.
According to historians, the historic large yatra bell is inscribed with spells (inn, ai, and khale) in three languages: Pali, Sanskrit, and Rakhine script. It is said that when this bell was struck once in ancient times, it caused such fear that Burmese kings trembled.
The terrorist military leader Min Aung Hlaing, who believes deeply in yatra (occult rituals) and astrology, has reportedly become worried about the emergence of the large ancient Arakan yatra bell under the Arakan Army's control. As a result, he has urgently instructed the archaeology departments to submit reports on the bell's history and background.
