As the dry season has arrived, in the areas of Rakhine State under the control of the ULA/AA, the Fire Department of the Arakan People's Revolutionary Government is actively implementing fire hazard prevention measures.

In Maungdaw Township, to prevent emergency fire incidents and fire hazards in advance, an auxiliary fire brigade (1/2026) involving people from various ethnic groups was opened from February 2 to February 15. Approximately 100 participants from diverse ethnicities—including Rakhine, Muslim, Hindu, Mro, Thet, and others—attended the training.

The auxiliary fire brigade members who attended the training are not required to serve full-time, but in the event of an emergency fire, they must cooperate with the government.

Similarly, in Mrauk-U town, including the main market and other key locations, the Fire Department of the Arakan People's Revolutionary Government conducted fire hazard prevention activities on January 25.

Fire safety warnings are being issued widely, handouts are being distributed, and warning signs are being installed extensively.

Furthermore, officials are monitoring and inspecting whether residents in the villages are complying with the government's fire prevention instructions.

"A dry season like this sees fires every year, so these advance prevention efforts are greatly relied upon by the people," said one local resident.

The Arakan People's Revolutionary Government plans to continue recruiting new members to the fire departments across Rakhine State and to carry out fire hazard prevention activities relentlessly throughout the summer season without interruption.
