Eight Civilians Killed, 11 Injured in Two Days as Myanmar Military Bombs Ponnagyun IDP Camps

Following the mass murder in Kyauktaw Town on September 28, the terrorist Myanmar military has continued to bomb IDP camps in Arakha State, leaving eight displaced civilians dead and 11 injured over the two-day period of October 4 and 5.


Regarding these fatalities and casualties, the News and Information Department of the Arakan Army released an official statement on the evening of October 5, detailing the names of the deceased and the specific locations targeted by the airstrikes.


The deceased include Maung Aung Kyaw Soe (18), U Maung Than Nu (57), Daw San Win Yi (50), U Oo Thun Win (61), U Maung Moe Win aka Maung Gyi Than (38), Maung Win Shwe Soe aka Nyi Chay (24), Ma Khine Thazin Soe (18), and Daw Hla May Thein (54).


A total of 11 people sustained injuries, with ages ranging from 18 to 67. Among the injured, apart from Ma Moe San Wai (18), the rest are men.


The AA statement noted that these casualties and injuries occurred among innocent civilians from the Byarla IDP camp, Pan Nilar IDP camp, and Aung Phyu Pyin Village in Ponnagyun Township, Arakha State, on October 4 and 5, 2026, as a result of the fascist terrorist military council’s continuous aerial bombardments.
