Clashes broke out yesterday, May 12, between three militant groups ARSA, RSO, and ARA inside a Muslim refugee camp in Bangladesh, according to local sources.
The exchange of fire occurred around 2:00 PM on May 12 within Refugee Camp No. 8 involving the armed groups ARA, ARSA, and RSO.
While there are reports of fatalities and severe injuries resulting from the shootout, the exact number of casualties has not yet been confirmed.
A refugee commented on the situation, saying: "RSO, ARSA, and ARA are fracturing even among themselves. I urge Muslim youth to be vigilant. Do not cooperate with these failed organizations at all. They are merely exploiting young people for their own self-interest."
Observers noted that these groups ARSA, RSO, and ARAhave increasingly turned to fighting one another, suggesting that they are only using Muslim youth as tools for their personal agendas.
There are also ongoing reports that some Muslim youths within the refugee camps are becoming increasingly involved in these acts of violence.
Additionally, a separate incident occurred on May 10 at the Hakimpara Muslim Refugee Camp in Cox’s Bazar, where RSO members surrounded an ARSA member, beat him, and attempted to assassinate him with a firearm.
