A member of the ARSA group was severely injured and lost a leg following a landmine explosion near Ukhia Township on the Bangladesh-Arakan border.

The incident occurred at approximately 9:30 AM on April 15 in the Chakmakahta area on the Arakan side, opposite the Palongkhali border.

The victim has been identified as 25-years-old Mohamed Yunus, a resident of Block D/2 in Ukhia Refugee Camp-19. He sustained a complete severance of his right leg.

This follows a similar incident on April 10 in the same border area, where another ARSA member, Mohamed Sadeq, also lost a leg in a landmine blast.

Within just five days, there have been two separate explosions resulting in members of terrorist Muslim Armed groups being maimed by landmines.

The Arakan Army (AA) has issued a warning to local residents to exercise extreme caution when traveling along the border, stating that terrorist Muslim armed groups have been planting landmines throughout the area.

According to residents in Maungdaw, terrorist Muslim armed groups have placed mines in various locations on the eastern bank of the Naf River in Arakan, as well as near fish ponds and coconut plantations close to the border's Zero Line.
