In some townships of Arakan, the Infectious Disease Prevention and Control Committee under the Arakkha People's Revolutionary Government has been leading awareness talks on the dangers of drug abuse and HIV/AIDS for high school students and pupils. These sessions were held during the first week of February last month, according to reports.
During the talks, speakers clearly explained the physical health and mental damages that can result from drug use, including mental disorders, disruptions to social life, and other harms. They also covered how HIV/AIDS is transmitted, prevention methods, and the behaviors that young people should avoid and follow to stay safe, ensuring high school students gained proper knowledge.

In addition, the sessions emphasized the importance of preventive measures for students to stay away from the dangers of drugs and to reduce the spread of HIV/AIDS.
The awareness talks were attended by relevant officials from the Arakan People's Health Department’s Infectious Disease Prevention and Control Committee, teachers, and high school students.
In recent days, in some villages in Mrauk-U Township, such as Musinlin village, diarrhea and dysentery cases have been occurring among children under 2 years old. The Arakkha People's Health Department conducted field inspections and held awareness talks accordingly.
Currently, the Arakkha Health Department and the Infectious Disease Prevention and Control Committee are continuously conducting health awareness talks in towns and villages across the Arakan region.
