Local news reports state that a young child, around four to five years old, who was kidnapped inside a Cox's Bazar refugee camp in Bangladesh, has been murdered despite the family paying the ransom.

It is reported that the parents paid 380,000 Bangladeshi Taka for the child's release, but the young child was later found dead.

According to sources, the child's parents paid the demanded amount to the kidnappers in hopes of getting their son back safely.

The deceased child has been identified as Alham, son of Mv Tabarek Hussain. A refugee stated that the family resides in Balukhali 01, Camp-09.

This brutal murder has caused shock, panic, and deep sorrow among the Muslim refugees who fled Arakan State, Myanmar, and are now living in the refugee camps of Cox's Bazar District, driving up security concerns to an extreme level.

Refugees in the camp are strongly urging authorities to swiftly identify the perpetrators responsible for murdering the innocent child, bring them to justice in accordance with the law, and significantly enhance security for the children inside the camps.
