In Arakan State, Thandwe Town, Ward No. (8/A), along 2nd Street, behind the former Pho Zee Wa Pharmacy, at around 6:00 AM today (August 16), the terrorist military junta carried out an airstrike using a jet fighter, dropping two bombs. As a result, two people were killed, and at least three others, including a child, were injured.

The deceased have been identified as U Min Naung (50), a resident of Thandwe Town's Ward No. 8, and his daughter, Khun Lait Shwe Yee (14). Additionally, two-year-old Shwe Moe Yae Thaw, along with Zeya Min Lwin (45) and Thet Thet Maw (40), sustained injuries. Local residents said the number of injured could rise.

Currently, the wounded are being transported for medical treatment.

Earlier, on August 13, the terrorist military commission also carried out airstrikes on Gwa Township and Kyeintali Town, which resulted in the deaths of eight innocent civilians, including children and entire families, with several others injured and homes destroyed.

Furthermore, on August 12, the terrorist military launched a jet fighter airstrike on Ward No. 2 in Sami Town, Paletwa Township, an area under the control of the Arakan Army (AA). That attack killed a 16-year-old girl and left eight others wounded.

On the very same day, August 12, the terrorist military commission also bombed Kaing Khone Village in Gwa Township twice, dropping a total of four bombs, according to a statement released by the Arakan Army (AA).

The terrorist military commission is reportedly suffering defeats in ongoing battles, prompting them to carry out consecutive airstrikes on Thandwe Town and surrounding areas where innocent civilians reside. These repeated attacks are resulting in continuing civilian casualties.
