Local Muslim residents report that the fascist terrorist Military Commission detained nine Muslims who arrived in Sittwe Township by water on April 22, subsequently handcuffing them and forcing them to stay under the scorching sun as a form of torture.
At approximately 9:00 AM on April 22, a group consisting of four Muslim men and five women—totalling nine individuals—arrived near Sittwe Township by boat. They were immediately detained by a Military Commission unit stationed in Panlanpyin Muslim Village, Sittwe Township.
According to an eyewitness, the nine detainees were then handcuffed, forced to kneel, and kept under the intense heat of the sun. It has been identified that all nine individuals are from the Nauk Pyin Muslim Village in Rathedaung Township.
Human rights activists have condemned the act, stating that handcuffing and exposing nine civilians, including women, to the extreme sun is a blatant and overt violation of human rights by the fascist terrorist Military Commission.
