Nine civilians were injured and several homes were damaged after the terrorist military junta used jet fighters to carry out airstrikes on Kyeintali town, Gwa Township, Arakan, early this morning on May 21, according to local sources.
Local residents reported that at around 9:00 AM today, two jet fighters belonging to the terrorist military flew over Kyeintali and launched approximately 10 consecutive bombing runs.
The airstrikes targeted the town area, causing several bombs to explode directly within Ward No. 2, which resulted in shrapnel injuries to multiple local residents.
"The bombs landed and exploded directly inside the residential ward, leaving many people wounded," a Kyeintali resident stated.
According to local sources, those who sustained shrapnel injuries from the airstrikes are all residents of Kyeintali's Ward No. 2, identified as U Nyi Ngel (39), Daw Pu Ma (65), Daw Khin Thet (32), U Htay Lwin (45), Daw Khin Moe (58), Daw Kyi Kyi (40), U Myint Win Tin (62), Ko Pyae Phyo Aung (33), and May Ngel (28).
Furthermore, the blast impact from the bomb explosions destroyed two civilian houses in Ward No. 2.
Local sources noted that as fighting intensifies across Arakan, the military commission forces have been continuously executing airstrikes specifically targeting civilian-populated wards in areas they have lost control over.
