The Military Commission launched airstrikes using jet fighters early this afternoon on five villages situated at the tri-border junction of Ponnagyun, Sittwe, and Rathedaung townships in Arakan State, according to a statement released today, September 3, by the Arakha Army (AA).

Beginning at approximately 1:35 PM today, four jet fighters carried out about 30 bombing runs over a period of roughly 30 minutes, the AA stated.

The statement noted that the airstrikes hit Kwun Taung, Kon Tan Kyein Chaung, and Makka La Kya villages located near the Ponnagyun–Sittwe–Rathedaung border area, as well as locations between Nyo Yaung and Min Hla villages.

Additionally, military commission forces conducted air raids on areas between Kyet Yoe Seik and Nyaung Pin Gyi villages in the Moe Se Kyein coastal region of Rathedaung Township.

The AA stated that details regarding casualties and structural damage resulting from these attacks will be released following further verification.

Clashes between the AA and military commission forces continue across Arakan State, with the military side repeatedly deploying airstrikes and heavy artillery bombardment.
