India (Mizoram) – Arakan (Paletwa) Trade Routes Reopened, MTP Announces

The trade routes that were temporarily closed due to incidents at the Khaikhy village port in Siaha District, Mizoram State, India, on September 14, have been reopened yesterday, September 24, according to a statement released by Mara Thyutlia Py (MTP).

The statement noted that a joint meeting was held on the evening of September 24 between the United League of Arakan (ULA) and the Mara youth organization, MTP.

During the meeting, both sides discussed reopening the three trade routes used between the Arakan and Maraland regarding the situation that occurred in Khaikhy village on September 14, 2026.

Additionally, they discussed necessary actions to resolve potential issues between the two sides and prevent the situation from deteriorating further.

The joint meeting was attended by MTP General Headquarters President Pp. S. Vabeihasa, officials from Siaha, as well as border relations and administrative officials from the United League of Arakan (ULA).

Furthermore, President Pp. S. Vabeihasa and Vice President Pp. FC Khinhnia from MTP General Headquarters discussed the matter, with both sides agreeing to continue working towards maintaining good relations, mutual understanding, and peaceful conflict resolution between the Rakhine and Mara peoples.
