The Humanitarian and Development Coordination Office (HDCO) and its partners have provided over 18 million Myanmar Kyats in financial assistance to the residents of Kyaung Chaung Village, who suffered casualties and property damage due to airstrikes by the military junta.
A total of 18,335,000 Kyats was distributed by HDCO on April 23. The aid package included 1.5 million Kyats from two civil society organizations, 5 million Kyats from Saya Wai Hin Aung, and 11,835,000 Kyats from a Christian association based in Australia.
The junta's aerial bombardment of Kyaung Chaung Village resulted in 7 fatalities and left 4 others injured. In terms of property damage, 2 homes were completely destroyed, while 10 others suffered partial damage.
Kyaung Chaung is a small village consisting of approximately 50 households and a population of over 200 people.
Earlier, on April 19, the Paletwa District Party Committee also provided 22.1 million Kyats in emergency aid to the village.
Currently, the Myanmar military has intensified its aerial operations across Arakan, deploying multiple fighter jets and reconnaissance aircraft simultaneously.
In response to these escalating attacks, the Arakan People's Government is actively conducting awareness campaigns using signboards and mobile units to warn civilians to remain highly vigilant against the ongoing threat of airstrikes.
